The Exiles® Irish Gin – 41.3%
Nose – Juniper\Bark\Cassia
Neat – Well off we set on this Irish journey and first we are greeted with a very light tasting gin that has lots of light floral and berry flavours to greet us and introduce us to the emerald isle. Then the juniper makes its introduction to work in harmony with the floral side and create a slight sweetness to this journey, then the more tradition coriander spice comes out to play along with some mild herbs. This all adds up to a light and crisp journey with a constant mild juniper background.
G&T – Adding some tonic into the mix results in a very tangy type of drink with the juniper and floral elements really do shine as the guiding lights of this journey. The spice from the coriander comes in afterwards and helps to create a lovely bitterness as well to this drink, we are then helped along the way with an orangey lemon citrus to make this into a really refreshing journey. The berries become mixed inside this journey and add to create little pops of flavour that seem to burst with the bubbles from the tonic; we garnished this with a nice piece of orange peel.
Well this journey really is too easy to drink, it’s so refreshing and the juniper and floral sides certainly lead the way in a very harmonious partnership. The citrus and berry sides turn this into a really refreshing drink that really couldn’t offend anybody. The only problem with this gin is that it really is too easy to get find the bottom of an empty glass, but hey ho time to pour another one. Our take is that this makes an ideal late spring and all the way through summer gin.
