Man of Action: Second Adventure Around the Globe, This Time On Land

11 Jun 2012
Three years ago Mike Perham braved the open seas to become the youngest person to sail round the world. That sense of adventure has now returned to Mike, and he's planning to circumnavigate the globe once again, this time on land. On July 3rd, Mike will begin a 23,000 mile journey to raise money for disaster relief charity ShelterBox. He will start at Prime Meridian Walk in London, and venture through Europe, Russia, China, Laos, Singapore, australia, New Zealand and America, before returning to Britain. He plans to stop at 6 locations that have received emergency supplies from ShelterBox, including Thailand and Christchurch. Mike really shares that same adventurous spirit The Wild Geese® showed, and there seems to be no breaking his determination. 'Travelling through some of the countries on the route does worry me a little bit, but that's what adventure is all about, there's no determined outcome' Mike is hoping to raise £1 for every mile he travels, which will go a long way to helping those affected by natural disasters. The ShelterBox founder, Tom Henderson OBE has pledged his complete support to Mike's ambitious journey: 'Mike Perham is an inspirational young man and we are delighted that he has chosen to support ShelterBox during his upcoming adventure. We wish him the very best of luck and we are happy to support him logistically throughout his challenge' You can follow Mike's journey at www.mikeperham.tv. Good luck to Mike!
